What's New at Safe Harbor: To view our 2010 Annual Report, please click here. _________________________________ Javon Al Yasiri, New Executive Director Safe Harbor Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Javon Al Yasiri as its new Executive Director, effective October 24. Ms. Al Yasiri will replace Brenda Nelson, who has served as Safe Harbor’s Executive Director since 2001 and is stepping down. As the new Executive Director, Al Yasiri brings over a decade of experience in advancing community, mental health and educational interests, which will be a strong asset in her new role at Safe Harbor. Since 2007, Al Yasiri has served as Director of Family Programs with Catholic Charities, Inc., responsible for oversight of programs including services to children, adults and families in 11 counties in South Central Wisconsin. Programs under her supervision included outpatient mental health, school counseling, coordination of mobile food pantry sites in 11 rural communities, and outreach to racial minority caregivers of children with intellectual disabilities. Al Yasiri has also served as an Instructor at the UW-Platteville’s Masters of Science and Adult Education Program. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. |
